Why Must Read 101 Fun Crossword Puzzles for Kids: First Children Crossword Puzzle Book for Kids Age 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 and for 3rd graders | Kids Crosswords (Easy Word Learning Activities for Kids)?

We received this book yesterday and my 6 year old was so excited that she insisted I stop what I was doing to work on a couple of the crosswords with her. The first few were super simple for her, of course. Althought she can't read a lot of the words, she can sound them out and pick out the word at the top of the page that matches and got them right. Next we moved on from just pictures to pictures and clues. This really got her brain gears turning. Although she hasn't moved past those just yet (it's only been a day, but she's come back several times asking to do more puzzles together), I flipped through the rest of the book. The progression is at a natural pace and I'm really looking forward to her working through the whole book. It's nice to see her excited about something that keeps her brain sharp, especially as we're moving into the summer where she's not in school every day. My daughter does not enjoy a lot of screen time. She would much rather have something tangible in her hands. I have printed off a few activities here and there, but this is so much better and well-worth purchase price. It's accessible when she wants it without having to search for a printable. She hops in with the book, spends a couple of minutes of bonding time and walks away happy, not even suspecting that she's being educated ;). I highly recommend this book.
