Why Must Read Michigan Criminal Law AND Procedure: A Manual for Michigan Police Officers?
A great, GREAT tool for an officer to have in their duty bag or at least readily available for daily review. Michigan agencies would benefit from investing in their officers with this purchase. I have had editions 2, 3, and now this one. The current edition has a more common-sense chronology to it than the last edition, along with updated case law. The forms in the appendix are also great and a good reference for agencies or officers that may not be familiar with them. This is one of those necessary evil purchases where, if you are an officer, you may hate to spend the money on it but it brings clarity to issues surrounding current search & seizure, criminal code, and state & US standings on numerous topics. Be confident in the job you do, and develop a firm understanding of what you can do.
