Why Must Read Sonic the Hedgehog Encyclo-speed-ia (Deluxe Edition)?
I finally got the deluxe edition delivered today after MANY delays. I was very disappointed with the book overall. The section on each game doesn't have much in the way of art work, mostly lists and descriptions of each level and enemy. There's some box art and a couple screenshots, but not much concept art. Good info about the games, but pretty basic stuff. No real mention of TV shows, the movies, the comics, or any other Sonic media or merchandise. More history about developing the series would have been nice. Sonic was integral to SEGA's success and being able to compete with Nintendo, and it's not really discussed at all. I was hoping for something much more comprehensive to celebrate the blue blur. Definitely wish I didn't spring for the $75 deluxe edition and just got the regular edition.
