Why Must Read Life As a Jailer: Through the Officers Eyes?

These authors may be great correction officers but they are terrible authors. Aside from the many misspellings and bad grammar, much of the book is taken up with nonspecific complaints about the lack of support the COs receive from their political leaders. I suspect most of these complaints are justified but if they want to vent their frustration with their bosses, filling up space in this book is not the best way. In my mind there is no question that COs are severely restricted in the ways they can deal with the prisoners in their charge and they are very much under appreciated. Too bad that there is little in this book that will change that.
