Why Must Read The New York Times Monday Crossword Puzzle Omnibus: 200 Solvable Puzzles from the Pages of The New York Times?
I've been a huge fan of will shortz since he was doing puzzles for games magazine. I was hoping for that caliber of puzzle, lots of puns and tricks and things that make you smile. Unfortunately, that just isn't in this book. I suspect the difference is that the ones I truly enjoyed Mr Shortz actually wrote whereas this book he just edited. I do not consider myself a master crossword puzzler and found these puzzles to be relatively easy. Could easily finish them in 15 to 20 minutes. It would be a really good crossword puzzle book for someone who wasn't looking for something specific as I was. The puzzles do make you think.
